Crumbs #01 – Feeling Inspired

A post by George

This is the first issue of crumbs. It’s a list format (don’t worry it’s not numbered) round-up of things that have inspired/humoured me recently.

It is not going to be replacing regular posts, I just don’t have the time to blog everything (moreover not all of these things quantify a whole post to themselves) and I feel like you guys (might) be missing out on some of this stuff.

Sir Ken Robinson - Do Schools Kill Creativity?

Sir Ken Robinson – Do schools kill creativity?

Sir Ken Robinson voices his opinion on the education system, about nurturing creativity/innovation and the definition of intelligence. This is a truely inspiring talk, one of TED’s finest.

Faster Spider Payment Scheme

Spider payment for overdue account

David Thorne tries to pay a bill with a (crude) drawing of a seven legged spider – truestory. Ok so this is a bit old now and has been covered extensively by the twittersphere and online etc – but still worth a mention!

Top 100 (really) good iPhone backgrounds

Top 100 (Really) Beautiful iPhone Wallpapers

Smashing Magazine (it was going to be them really wasn’t it) have compiled the top 100 iPhone wallpapers. There are some really lovely ones on there, including one I designed for iLT’s new website typenuts.com (first one, on the left “ILCaslon”).

The launch of the Macbook Wheel

This week also saw MacWorld ’09, which came baring all sorts of lovely apple treats. The Onion where quick off the mark to spoof this new product, the Macbook Wheel.

    hello!
    awesome post
i looked through everyone of them except the speech since i have to go out soon.
the wheel, is that real? im not really into mac, i know the horror. but it looked really tiring typing with the wheel. I am not familiar with ONN so i can’t tell if it’s a joke or not.
haha that guy was funny though..

    Hi emm
Glad you liked the post :)
Yea the ONN is like a joke news network they are always putting up fake, ridiculous stories
The predictive sentence thing made me crack up as well – the first sentence one was something like “The aardvark admitted it’s fault” lol
