Au Francais

A post by George

I’m off work this week and over in France, staying with my folks. I thought I would write a mash-up post of random observations from my hols…

Magazine (h1)
Magazine 2 Magazine 3 Magazine 4

French Magazines have lovely typography. One of the neighbours was reading this french magazine, La Figaro and I noticed their typeface of choice is Newzald. Excellent Type, great choice!

Puppies (h1)
Puppies 6 Puppies 7 Puppies 8

Kitty’s litter is 7 weeks old. Kitty is my mum and dads dog and her litter has just hit 7 weeks, I believe the technical term is ‘Pups-Adorabalas’ (3 girls and a boy).

Studio (h1)
Studio 10 Studio 11 Studio 12

My dad has finished his new studio. This has been an ongoing project of my dads for a few months, but he has finally finished his new studio and it’s fucking lovely!

Very superstitious, writing’s on the wall

One for sorrowTouch Wood

I just found the Superstitious Series in the (lovely) portfolio of Jane & Jeremy.

If you haven’t heard of them before, or seen their portfolio, I highly recommend you take a look. They are the kings of kitsch, their portfolio is full of bespoke, one-off, books, photographs – including lots of amazing Polaroid shots and a book of kisses. Brilliant!

The superstitious badges are also available to buy for £4 via paypal

Beached – Awesome Timelapse

A post by George

I just found this vid on Vimeo, it’s a time-lapse of the first day of summer on an Australian beach. They’ve used a really strange depth of field and it’s created a kind of playmobile effect.

Also, really like the backing track, “I feel Fine” by Sonido Lasser Drakar.

Helvetipoly!

Type Addicted!

I managed to hunt down a copy of Type Addicted in Soho yesterday, it’s a brilliant book! Full of really innovative & interesting type examples.

Type Addicted! Type Addicted! Type Addicted! Type Addicted! Type Addicted! Type Addicted!

This is just a sample and yes the rest of the book is as good (& better) I strongly recommend it!
